LIBERTY VS. TYRANNY

'"It's a massive increase in government, as shown by this bill," Mr. Ensign told a reporter off the floor later, spreading his arms wide as if to encompass the stack of papers that comes in at more than a foot tall and, according to Sen. Lisa Murkowski, weighs in at more than 20 pounds.

The bill contains the word "tax" 511 times and includes 18 tax hikes, according to Americans for Tax Reform, a conservative lobby group. It uses the word "require" more than 1,000 times, the word "shall" more than 3,500 times, and talks about studies required by the bill 150 times.

Democrats hope it also contains enough perks and goodies to win the 60 votes needed to get a bill passed on onto President Obama's desk." -Washington Post

How Terrorists were Dealt with by FDR

Have you ever wondered how our past Presidents would have dealt with radical islamofascist terrorists? We know how President Reagan handled them--he bombed the hell out of them--but what about 60 years ago (when, like today, we were engaged in a conflict with fascism)? Mark Levin shared this story on his show last night and it really struck me. Levin, a highly respected constitutional lawyer, addressed the "myth that we're hearing out of the justice dept and others that it is an American tradition and a constitutional requirement that we try these terrorists in civilian court". Listen along as he destroys this myth: here.
"On June 19 [1942] the President received an excited call from Francis Biddle, his attorney general. Six days before, Biddle told the President, "at 1:30 A.M. an unarmed Coast Guard patrolman near Amagansett, Montauk Point, Long Island, discovered two men placing material in a hole they had dug; one of them covered the patrolman with a gun, gave him $260 and told him to keep his mouth shut. I shall, of course, keep you informed." As J. Edgar Hoover's nominal boss, Biddle later recalled the FBI chief's demeanor while describing the plan to track down the rest of the saboteurs: "His eyes were bright, his jaw set, excitement flickering around the edge of his nostrils," Biddle remembered. The question now was how much to tell the public. Hoover wanted no announcement that might alert the men still at large. The President agreed, and the press was, for the moment, frozen out of the story.

FDR's longstanding preoccupation with sabotage now seemed validated. Biddle admitted, "1 had a bad week trying to sleep as I thought of the possibilities. The saboteurs might have other caches hidden, and at any moment an explosion was possible." [Saboteur] Dasch had, in fact, revealed that, along with their transportation and industrial targets, the Pastorius mission was supposed to spread terror by placing firebombs in department stores and delayed-action explosives in hotels and in crowded railroad stations..............."

There was once a time in America when men were men and our leaders weren't blinded and crippled by political correctness.

Religion of Peace?

Qur'an (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter...and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."

Qur'an (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Qur'an (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."

Qur'an (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Qur'an (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority."

Qur'an (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."

Qur'an (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"

Qur'an (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."

Qur'an (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-"

Qur'an (4:104) - "And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain..."

Qur'an (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement."

Qur'an (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them."

Qur'an (8:15) - "O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end."

Qur'an (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah."

Qur'an (8:57) - "If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember."

Qur'an (8:59-60) - "And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah's Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape. Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy."

Qur'an (9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."

Qur'an (9:14) - "Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace..."

Qur'an (9:20) - "Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah's way are of much greater worth in Allah's sight. These are they who are triumphant."

Qur'an (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Qur'an (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

Qur'an (9:38-39) - "O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place."

Qur'an (9:41) - "Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew." See also the verse that follows (9:42) - "If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them."

Qur'an (9:73) - "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination."

Qur'an (9:88) - "But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper."

Qur'an (9:111) - "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme."

Qur'an (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."

Qur'an (21:44) - "We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?"

Qur'an (25:52) - "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an)."

Qur'an (47:4) - "So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,"

Qur'an (47:35) - "Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: "have the upper hand") for Allah is with you,"

Qur'an (48:17) - "There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom."

Qur'an (48:29) - "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves"

Qur'an (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way."

Qur'an (61:10-12) - "O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity."

Qur'an (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end."

HR 3962: the 'Charity is Only Possible Through Government Mandate Act'???

When did we as a society decide that compassion and benevolence are only possible through government mandates? Maybe it comes down to the Philosophy 101 question "are people inherently good or evil?". I and many conservatives tend to be optimists, but Pelosi knows you are inherently evil. One thing I can guarantee to you is that government is inherently wasteful.

Here's an idea: take that $1-2 trillion that was going to be used on Obamacare and give it back to the people! Incentivize charitable donations, reward people with tax breaks for helping the less fortunate, make charity more affordable for doctors through malpractice reform. This increased tax burden isn't going to help anyone.

Government needs to get out of the way and let us help ourselves and one another. I'm of the opinion that there are enough good people out there that the poor would be taken care of if the government would STOP TAXING the people and LET THEM help others. This idea that the government can function as a charitable organization is flawed. Most of the money will get lost to fraud and waste before it ever reaches the people who need it.

This Obamalosi plan is the complete opposite of what we need. The proposed plan will simply increase the tax burden on people, making it even harder to help others. It's like we're throwing up our hands and admitting that society as a whole is incapable of philanthropy of its own volition. We need the government to force us to help others through taxes and government programs. I'm not prepared to admit that society would stand idly if people were in need of assistance and society had the means to help them. I don't think that's the case at all. I think a bloated government has the peoples' hands tied. As a whole, Americans are barely able to take care of themselves. They're overburdened to the point that helping others is simply not an option for many people.

All I'm saying is this: if government would step back, scale down, and let Americans keep more of their earnings, I think Americans would take care of each other and there would be no need for the government middle man. AND I'm not blaming all of this on Obama (though he is making it worse). The people weren't all of the sudden overburdened by taxes when Obama became President. They've been that way for a long time (and it's only getting worse).

Welfare programs give people a false sense of gratification. They think their money is being used for the good of their fellow man when in all honesty, their money would go a lot further if the government would LET THEM give their money directly to charitable foundations, charity hospitals, or the family down the street that is having a hard time making ends meet. I just don't see why the government middle man is a necessity.

Even if a taxpayer went from contributing $10,000 (through taxes) to contributing $2,000 (directly to the people who need it), the people who need help would still get more out of the deal...and we'd have the added benefit of everyone having more money. That money could be spent (improving the economy), saved (improving the lending situation), or used to create jobs (improving lives and reducing the need for governmental charity). It's just so clear to me, I have a hard time understanding how anyone couldn't see the benefits. I'm not blaming everything on Obama. I'm not blaming everything on Clinton. I'm not blaming everything on Carter. I'm not even blaming everything on the trifecta as a whole! This is a long-standing issue--a fundamental error in political philosophy--that has been building on itself for decades, but Obama is pouring gasoline on the brush fire!

Nidal Malik Hasan: Victim???

This guy was a religious extremist, pure and simple. I'm not attacking the religion of Islam or saying that this man's actions define its people as a whole, but to say this was anything other than an act of religious fanaticism and terrorism is ridiculous. This guy let his religious convictions drive him to the cold-blooded, calculating murder of innocent victims. He had a fundamental disagreement with the implementation of wars in the middle east. Great, lots of people do. In America, we institute change through peaceful means--we VOTE. This guy carried out an act of terrorism [according to Merriam-Webster: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion], and I'm SICK of hearing the mainstream media characterize this man as a victim. He is NOT a victim. His victims are the sole victims of this act.
"Major H, a devout Muslim who was deeply troubled by the US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, shouted “Allah Akbar” or “God is Great” just before the shooting, CM, Fort Hood’s director of emergency services, told the news agency service Reuters."
I'm just calling it like I see it. Political correctness KILLS, and I'm sick of it. This guy was under surveillance for anti-American posts on terrorist online forums and he was vocal about his support of suicide bombers, but he wasn't arrested (and this atrocity was not averted) because our nation is so caught up in political correctness and the fear of accusations of bigotry or intolerance.

Warning--Mainstream Media BS:

From media interviews with family and friends, a picture emerged of Major Hasan, 39, as a lonely and unhappy individual but none of them could understand why he carried out his killing spree.

“We cannot fully know what leads a man to do such a thing,” said Mr Obama, who used his address to stress the diversity of American soldiers.

Major Hassan, a devout Muslim who was deeply troubled by the US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, shouted “Allah Akbar” or “God is Great” just before the shooting, Chuck Medley, Fort Hood’s director of emergency services, told the news agency service Reuters.

Friends and family said Major Hassan was upset about his imminent deployment to Afghanistan to help soldiers combat stress. “We’ve known over the last five years that was probably his worst nightmare,” said Nader Hassan, a cousin.

Major Hassan also complained of harassment in the army because of his faith. Before being transferred to Fort Hood earlier this year, he counselled severely wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. There are only 1,977 soldiers in the active-duty army who identify themselves as Muslims, out of a total of 553,000 active-duty troops, according to the service.

Val Finnell, a former classmate, said Major Hasan called the Bush administration’s war on terrorism “a war against Islam”.

“He was very vocal about the war, very upfront about being a Muslim first and an American second,” Mr Finnell, 41, a doctor in Los Angeles, told the Bloomberg news agency. “He was always concerned that Muslims in the military were being persecuted.”

Relatives in Al Bireh, near Ramallah in the West Bank, said Major Hasan told the army of his unhappiness.

“He told [them] that as a Muslim committed to his prayers, he was discriminated against and not treated as is fitting for an officer and American,” said Mohammed Malik Hasan, 24, a cousin. “He hired a lawyer to get him a discharge.”

Mr Hasan said he was shocked by the attack. “I was surprised, honestly, because the guy and his brothers are so calm and he, as I know, loves his work.”

He said Major Hasan and his two brothers became more religious after their father died in 1998 and mother’s death in 2001.

But fellow worshippers at mosques in Texas, Maryland and Virginia attended by Major Hasan said they never heard him express extremist views. He was said to be generous in fulfilling his duties of zakat, or charitable giving, and was keen to find a pious wife.

But his actions in recent days appeared to show a certain premeditation although it was unclear whether this was to do with the attack or his deployment.

He gave away belongings including a Quran, vegetables, a mattress and clothing and told Patricia Villa, his neighbour: “I’m not going to need them.”

The attack renewed concern about the military’s overburdened healthcare system. Top health policy positions in the Pentagon are unfilled and the system remains stretched as the country fights two wars.

Kay Bailey Hutchison, a Texas senator, said army officials were checking procedures supposed to deal with people suffering from mental-health problems.

“Was enough done?” she said. “I don’t think that anyone would have ever expected a psychiatrist trained to help others’ mental health would be the one who would go off himself, unless there’s more to it and that’s what they’re looking f
or.”

Nancy Pelosi: tl;dr

If you aren't familiar with the internet meme 'tl;dr', it stands for 'too long; didn't read' and is often posted on forums after someone has copied/pasted something entirely too long/boring to waste your time reading. Reading and understanding the Constitution can be a daunting task for many. Respecting and adhering to the Constitution can be downright impossible for some. Nancy Pelosi either a) hasn't read the Constitution, b) is too ignorant to understand it, or c) simply chooses to ignore it. I've gotten pretty good at multiple choice tests over the years, and I'm inclined to pick answer 'C' (although there's probably quite a bit of B mixed in there, too). If you like the design, check out http://www.zazzle.com/palmtreedoc/gifts?cg=196625841806471451.

Very Classy!!!!

Obama makes a "shout-out" before addressing a national tragedy.

The Manchild Candidate

It seems the Manchild-in-Chief is still unwilling to take the heat for his own failed presidency. He's had 9 months, unlimited resources, and a very friendly congress to help push his agenda. Sorry Barack, but Bush isn't responsible for your stagnant economy and rising unemployment rates--YOU are. Bush isn't responsible for your limbo war in Afghanistan and your unwillingness to work with skilled commanders on the ground--YOU are. Bush isn't responsible for your wildly unpopular decision to bail out the automakers--YOU are. Bush isn't responsible for your unprecedentedly wasteful and ineffective "stimulus" plan--YOU are. Bush isn't responsible for America's skepticism and outright fear of your socialist health care initiatives--YOU are. Bush isn't responsible for your COMPLETE & UTTER FAILURE as a leader--YOU are. Last but not least, Bush isn't responsible for your plummeting approval numbers or the vast numbers of voters who came out to support Conservatism Tuesday night--YOU are. You have singlehandedly destroyed the hopes and dreams of millions of Americans...all for your own selfish gain. Enjoy the rest of your term--4 years is all you get.

A year after his historic election, President Barack Obama sought to remind Americans on Wednesday the biggest problems he is grappling with -- from the economy to the war in Afghanistan -- are the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush.

With his approval ratings down from once-lofty levels and Tuesday's Democratic election losses raising questions about his political clout, Obama held no special ceremony to mark the anniversary of his election as America's first black president.

He instead traveled to Wisconsin to appear before a friendly audience in a school gymnasium and promote education as a pillar of his economic recovery efforts.

Obama was elected on a promise of sweeping change after eight years under Bush, but many Americans are increasingly expressing impatience that his pledge has yet to bear fruit.

He used the preamble of his speech to insist his administration had indeed had important successes and also to remind Americans of the litany of daunting challenges he inherited when he took office in January.

"One year ago, Americans all across this country went to the polls and cast ballots for the future they wanted to see," Obama said.

But he said his administration was also confronted with a "financial crisis that threatened to plunge our economy into a Great Depression, the worst that we've seen in generations."

"We had record deficits, two wars, frayed alliances around the world," Obama added.

He said his administration had acted swiftly to save the economy from "imminent collapse."

"While we still have a long way to go, we have made meaningful progress toward achieving that goal," he said.

Nine months into his term, Obama's Republican critics have accused him of overplaying the "blame card" against Bush, a Republican who left office with one of the lowest poll ratings of any modern president.

Obama has seen his own approval numbers fall to the 50 percent range from above 70 percent as he struggles to push through a healthcare overhaul, reverse massive job losses and decide whether to send more troops to an increasingly unpopular war in Afghanistan.

He took another hit to his political standing on Tuesday when voters elected Republicans in state governors' races in Virginia and New Jersey despite his personal campaigning for the Democratic candidates. The White House denied the election losses were in any way a referendum on the president.

NEO-SLAVERY: "Failed" Policies, a New Constituency, and the Rise of the Left

Before we get into the nuts and bolts, let's take a quick trip back to February 13, 2009. Obama's Presidency was still in its early days. His approval numbers were sky-high, and he had a limitless supply of political capital. The national unemployment rate was at 8.2%. People were afraid, but they had just elected a new, vibrant leader who seemed to have all the answers.
"At $789 billion, the final package "is just not going to pack the same jobs punch" as some earlier versions, which cost as much as $100 billion more, said Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Economy.com, whose analyses have been cited by White House officials as well as congressional Democrats. Zandi estimates the measure will create only about 2.2 million jobs by the end of 2010, leaving unemployment hovering around 10 percent and probably forcing lawmakers to undertake another stimulus plan.

The White House has officially pared its own projection to 3.5 million jobs in recognition of the bill's smaller size. But Christina Romer, who leads Obama's Council of Economic Advisers, said the administration remains convinced that the package of tax cuts and spending initiatives has sufficient power to boost the sagging economy toward recovery by year's end."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/12/AR2009021203832.html
By the White House's own estimates, the stimulus plan ($789,000,000,000) was going to create 3.5 million jobs (that's $225,428/job).

789000000000/3500000=225428

Fast forward to today. Unemployment is at 10.2%--that is a 25% INCREASE since February. Our government has allocated untold quantities of money--money we DO NOT HAVE--to "stimulate" the economy. Gold is at an all-time high, indicating the rapid devaluation of our currency. Not only are more people unemployed, but what little money people do have is buying less and less each day. In the 9-10 months since it began, the White House claims to have created or saved some 640,329 jobs. How exactly does one measure how many jobs have been saved? More importantly, why should that "figure" even matter? The stimulus plan was supposed to CREATE 3.5 million jobs (over 2 years)--Obama's words, not mine. It wasn't sold to us as a plan that would SAVE 3.5 million jobs. The real measurement of a healthy economy isn't a STEADY 10.2% unemployment rate, it's a DECREASING unemployment rate. Anyone who supported this plan was outright swindled, and anyone who continues to support this plan is selling the rest of us down the river.

Some more facts:
"On Friday, in the name of holy transparency, the White House released the list of jobs created or saved with the stimulus funds. Now, let’s assume that the government can create jobs even though it can’t. Let’s assume that “job saved” is not the lamest excuse for government spending I have heard in my life time as a budget analyst. And let’s look at what this data means.

The White House claims that 640,329 were created or saved. That, by the way, is way less than what Christina Romer claimed would be created. Last week, she mentioned 1.4 million during a Joint Committee hearing. Remember.

First, $159 billion has been spent so far. That’s $248,273 per job.

However, when you look at some specific contracts that were awarded you find that some jobs were created or saved at an insane cost to taxpayers. For instance, $1,359,633,501 were awarded to CH2M WG IDAHO LLC, in WA to create 2,183 jobs. That’s $622,827 per job. That’s not as bad though as the $258,646,800 awarded to the Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC in NY, to create 25 jobs. That’s over $10.3 million per job.

I would be happy with one of these jobs.

Second, while the administration is promising good and in time reporting, we can see that it’s far from being the case. Agencies report having spent $207.3Billion and yet only $36,688,660,161 were reported by states. That’s a big gap, isn’t it?

Third, some 85 percent of the money went to 4 agencies: HHS, Labor, Education and Social Security. That money wasn’t spent on shovel ready projects. For instance, some of the HHS funds went to some rural high school and college students from Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee to conduct medical research this summer with a team of leading scientists at Vanderbilt University. The Department of Labor spent $11,058,877 in unemployment insurance (UI) modernization incentive funds to the state of West Virginia. And the Department of Education is mainly spending its money to keep union protected school teachers in their jobs. Not really shovel ready projects, are they?

But the most relevant information on Recovery.gov is that most of the jobs created or saved are in the public sector. For instance, according to Vice President Biden, out of the 640,329 jobs, 325,000 went to education and 80,000 to construction jobs. The difference we will soon find out is going to other government jobs.
You need more evidence? 13,080 grants went to the private sector, and 116,625 went to feral agencies.
So even if we assume that the government could create jobs by spending our money, we can see that what this money is being spent on is big government. Or bigger government I should say.

So when you think that, on top of everything, the government can’t create jobs (here and here), this data is transparently depressing."
http://biggovernment.com/2009/11/02/stimulus-job-creation-bigger-government/#more-24206
HANDING DEMOCRATS THE KEYS TO THE ECONOMY IS LIKE HANDING THE KEYS TO A DRUNK DRIVER. How can they possibly think that boosting the number of public sector jobs can stimulate growth?! Don't get me wrong--I don't want ANYONE to be out of a job, but don't come at me spouting off about saving the teachers. I do not have a problem with teachers--don't get me wrong--but it doesn't matter how many teachers we have if there is no public sector demand for their product (high school/college graduates). All the knowledge in the world isn't going to help these young Americans if there are no private sector jobs waiting for them on the other side. Again, I don't think our leaders understand how things work. Government jobs are supposed to be supported by private sector taxes. Public sector jobs and costly progressive reform (healthcare, cap & trade, etc) are AMENITIES to be enjoyed by countries with already healthy (GROWING) economies. These are NOT effective means for achieving economic stability. If you increase the number of government jobs without increasing the number of private sector jobs, you're going to have a problem on your hands. Could it be that Democrats aren't interested in improving the economy? With their perceived satisfaction with the idea of a "jobless recovery", you really have to wonder. It seems Democrats are counting on voters to think with their hearts instead of their brains. They've effectively conned America into believing them to be the party of compassion. Empty words and promises have carried them for a long time, but the modern alternative media is revealing the true, dark nature of their agenda. Just as the Democrat party once stood for slavery, the modern Democrat party is once again promoting slavery. Through irresponsible fiscal policy and economically destructive "reform", they are creating an entire new constituency of voters--a massive, jobless, demoralized class of people who WANT to work but CAN'T find jobs. Just as Democrats have always enjoyed the complete support of unemployed voters, they're counting on this new class of otherwise productive citizens having no choice but to support the party of handouts--thus ensuring unchecked, unencumbered control to the Democrat party. This is truly our Liberty vs. Tyranny moment. -Palm Tree Doc (http://palmtreedoc.blogspot.com)

America Rejects Liberalism

http://abcnews.go.com/PollingUnit/Politics/election-2009-virginia-jersey-exit-polls-obama-economy/story?id=8984551
America REJECTS liberalism. Obama was soundly defeated in New Jersey with the deposing of the incumbent Demoncrap. VA, which went to Obama in 2008, was swept by an 18% margin in favor of the conservative candidate. NY-23 was really no surprise. They have a long history of supporting RINO (Republican in Name Only) candidates who do more harm than good. The democrat who won is more conservative than the republican who was originally in the race. Overall, the results of yesterday's elections are very indicative of the momentum of the conservative movement in America. With Americans opposing Obamacare 57-43% and the growing unease with the stagnant Obama economy and the destructive effects of liberal fiscal policy, none of this is really surprising!

New Design!

Just in time for Thanksgiving. The government has taken over the auto industry, the bank industry, and the student loan industry. Taxes are going up on everything. They're seconds away from passing a health care bill that will give the government control of almost every aspect of our lies. Cap & Trade is on the table and poses a serious threat to our economy and our personal lives. With all these handouts and "reforms" going into effect, wouldn't it be nice if we could get a little freedom?!

Is Barack Obama a Modern Great Gatsby?

Michelle and Barack Obama sat one table over from J. Lo and Marc Anthony, and all four of them were rocking in their seats as Sheila E. shook the house — well, really the tent.
The latest installment of the White House music series was too big for the East Room, so a high-wattage assortment of Latin musicians sent pulsating, can't-help-but-bob-along rhythms tumbling out of a giant tent on the mansion's South Lawn.
As it happens, music of all sorts — rock, jazz, country, classical — has been busting out of the White House all year long.
"I believe that on the first night I went to Gatsby's house I was one of the few guests who had actually been invited. People were not invited - they went there." -The Great Gatsby, Chapter 4

What a joke!

Haven't had a chance to update the blog lately. Moved to Atlanta a few weeks ago, and am in the process of studying for the board exam (coming in Spring '10). When I woke up today and saw the news that Obama had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, I couldn't help but laugh. It seems every day something happens that just completely catches me off guard. What a joke this President has become. If the potential consequences of his Presidency weren't as serious as they are, it'd be pretty entertaining.

Barack Obama: man of the people?

The Obamas arrived in Martha's Vineyard yesterday aboard Marine One. The vineyard is the playground of some of the world's richest people--people who have worked hard, achieved success, and accumulated unimaginable wealth in the free market. The Obamas, themselves free market millionaires, will be renting a luxurious 28 acre farm on the island for a week at the low low rate of $50,000/week. They'll be joined by many family friends, including the family physician from Chicago and his sister Maya. Maybe he'll invite elitist Harvard college professor and personal friend Henry Louis Gates over for some $100/lb kobe beef and a few cold ones. One can only wonder how a man who has achieved such great power and wealth in a free market economy could advocate the nationalization of almost every industry in America. Had Ronald Reagan nationalized the publishing business in the 1980s, Barack would still be community organizing in the slums of Chicago instead of frolicking with the rich and famous on the beaches of Martha's Vineyard. Lucky for the Obamas and despite Barack's best efforts, America is still the land of opportunity.

William Kostric: A Great American

William Kostric did a great job standing up against the loudmouth Chris Matthews. This man was no threat to Obama or anyone else present. He was simply exercising his CONSTITUTIONAL right to bear arms. Kudos to Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, South Dakota, Vermont, Kentucky, and Virginia for granting full 2nd amendment rights to your citizens. If you're a resident of any of these states, please exercise your rights. Those of us in restrictive (UNCONSTITUTIONAL) states wish we could. An armed society is a polite society.
